Illamasqua Haul | First Impressions

Illamasqua Haul | Jennie Emma

Illamasqua is a brand in which I have never actually bought anything from before.  It has always been a brand that I have always lusted over, however I am always pretty reluctant to part with my hard earned money in exchange for products from a brand that is completely new to me.  I guess I just stick to what I know when it comes to high end products.  If only I had the same outlook when it comes to drug store products hey!

Anyway, back to the reasoning behind stepping out of my comfort zone and choosing a high end brand that I have never encountered with before.  I noticed on Twitter that Illamasqua were having quite a large sale a few months ago.  Being the bad blogger I am, I have finally got round to taking a few photographs and writing a few lines for you all.  Before I go any further I’d like to let you all know that the sale on top of sale has most definitely finished now, however you can still pick the multi facet palette up from their website at a discounted rate.

First of all, having been really impressed with Maybelline’s Colour Tattoos, I figured that Illamasqua’s liquid gold somewhat resembled these and decided upon this lovely gold shade.  I bought this with the intention of using it as a base colour when I am creating a heavy eye look for a night out.  At the moment I am really into shimmery warm tones of eye shadow, and although this is a pretty cool toned gold, I’m preying it will still work well with them.  I have heard great things about these liquid metals from a number of beauty bloggers so fingers crossed!

Carrying on with my small shopping spree, I was amazed to find that the Multi Facet Pallete was on sale at only £13.50.  For a palette like this from a high end brand it was pretty set that I was going to buy it regardless of what it looked like.  Is that bad?!  Anyway… I was pretty intrigued as to what was actually included in the palette, and having done very little research before purchasing, I was eager for it’s arrival.

I was pleased to discover that Illamasqua had picked out their nine best selling shades of a range of different make up products.  Everything you need to create an intense make up look is included bar foundation.  With four eye shadow shades, a cream highlighter, cream pigment, eyebrow shade and a powder blusher, I couldn’t believe my luck.  I was even more excited to try out the Gleam in Mirage which is described as a ‘bronze/gold’  alluring glow cream highlighter.  High five to the marketers for coming up with that line. I was sold as soon as I saw that!
